Sasaram is the administrative headquarters of Rohtas district of Bihar. An ancient city believed to taken name from Sahasrabahu a warrior sage. It is famous for Mausoleum of Emperor Sher Shah Suri which is built from red sandstone during 1540-45 AD. It stands majestically in the middle of an artificial lake. The famous Grand Trunk road built by Emperor Sher Shah Suri passes through Sasaram town. You can also visit the tomb of Hassan Khan father of Sher Shah and other Muslim monuments.
